FAQs
YUM Allergy-Friendly Bakery doesn’t bake with gluten, dairy, nuts or eggs. We are a home bakery, however, and our home is not 100% free of allergens. If you have a life-threatening allergy, please be aware. Every precaution is made to ensure safety, but our home is filled with children and snacks that aren’t free of allergens. Please call or email if you have questions regarding our facility.
Where Can I Find Your Ingredient List?
On our top menu, there’s a link to our ingredients. You can view them all at your leisure and let us know if you have questions. We are a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, nut-free and vegan bakery. HOWEVER, the vegan chocolate chips we use do have soy lecithin in them, and our home bakery uses a shared kitchen that isn’t 100% free of all allergens. If you have severe allergies or allergies beyond what’s listed here, please feel free to ask us if we can accommodate your order.
Do You Have a Store?
No (not yet, anyway). YUM Allergy-Friendly Bakery is a home bakery, so everything we make is special order. We don’t keep cookies or cupcakes on hand, so if you’re interested in YUM, you’ll have to place an order with us or visit one of the coffee shops we deliver to weekly (you can find that list on our homepage).
What's Your Minimum Order Amount?
Since we’re a home bakery, we can’t make one or two cookies at a time, and we can’t split orders up into multiple items of different flavors.
We accept orders of a dozen or half-dozen of a single item/flavor. The minimum order is 6 of the same item.
At this point, we cannot accommodate special orders of variety boxes. While we understand why you may want to order this way, it is not possible at this time. Thanks for understanding!
Do You Make Cakes?
We do! You can find our Cake Menu on the homepage. We have made cakes for a variety of special occasions (and even a few wedding cakes!) and are happy to talk to you about the possibilities. Each cake order is priced according to size, number of layers, and decoration requests.
How Far In Advance Should I Order?
YUM Allergy-Friendly Bakery is run by one person who is also responsible for other small humans. I will absolutely do my best to fill all requests, but I do ask that you give at least 48 hours notice for special orders and one week for cakes. If you need something ASAP, don’t be afraid to ask – if I can make it work with my schedule, I will!
Where Can I Try Before I Order?
You can visit the homepage to find the coffee shops we deliver to weekly, so you can try our cookies, whoopie pies and banana bread muffins at your leisure. In the Fall/Winter, you’ll also find a list of market events that we’ll be at weekly.
Do You Deliver?
We can deliver within the Phoenix metro area. We are located in Glendale, AZ, so you can pick up special orders directly from us for no charge. Delivery rates range from $5 (local) up to $30 depending on distance. We also can drop off your special order at Elevate Coffee in North Phoenix so you can pick up at your leisure while grabbing a fantastic coffee.
Do You Offer Sugar-Free Options?
Not at this time. We haven’t had any luck with sugar replacements and we don’t want to sell a sub-par product. We understand the need for sugar free items, but cannot accomodate sugar-free orders at this time.
What Does "Allergy-Friendly" Mean?
YUM Allergy-Friendly Bakery means that we are very aware of food allergens. We never bake with gluten, dairy, eggs, or nuts. We don’t use soy, but our vegan chocolate chips do have soy lecithin in them and therefore our Chocolate Chip Cookies have soy. All our baked goods are vegan.
While we are allergy friendly, never using gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, or even coconut in any of our baked goods (meaning utensils and baking tools don’t get loaded with any of these allergens), we are a home bakery that’s not a 100% nut-free facility. We have kids, so they may bring home snacks from school that aren’t allergy free. While these allergens are kept away from baking surfaces, I cannot guarantee complete safety. If you have a life-threatening allergy, the safest baked goods for you to consume are those you make yourself. We do our absolute best to prevent any cross-contamination! We hope to someday have a commercial kitchen so we can bake safely for everyone.
